Alexander Chaplin is an American actor best known for his role as James Hobert in the ABC sitcom Spin City. He was a regular cast member on the show from 1996 to 2000.
Before Spin City, Chaplin had guest roles on television shows like All My Children and Going to Extremes. After leaving Spin City, he continued to work in television, appearing in shows such as Scrubs, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Law & Order. He also had roles in films, including The Siege and Everything's Relative.
Chaplin is sometimes credited as Josh Chaplin.
